Dear friends and supporters of NOAH,
All of our hard work and your generous giving has finally brought us to the long-awaited goal of opening the NOAH elementary school for orphans in Malawi. We are now preparing to move into the work we envisioned when this project began in July of 2002.
Although much time has passed on the calendar, we have been busy building a foundation that is firmly established in documented relationships with the appropriate branches of government in both the United States and Malawi. In addition to the difficult task of establishing an internationally operated and legally recognized 501-c-3 organization, in the previous 42 months, we have accomplished the following:
- We have distributed more than 30,000 lbs. of food in the form of raw maize or corn, 3000 lbs. of maize seeds, and 12,000 lbs. of fertilizer
- Clearing of the 4.5 acres of land where we are located and securing a permanent deed and clear title in the name of NOAH from the Malawian government
- The facility you see in the photos has been built from scratch including two new wells using donations and employing hundreds of people from the local community
- Helped the congregation in Malawi to; have 4 outreach events in remote locations using generators to show the Jesus film resulting in more than 300 professions of faith in Jesus as Savior, plant two new branch congregations in nearby villages, construct buildings for them, and provide hundreds of native language Bibles.
- Many people including orphaned children of all ages have been fed, clothed, educated, cared for and given desperately needed medical attention along the way
- The trustees on staff in Malawi have received driver education and licenses, modest homes at the site, telephones, a four-wheel drive truck and computer training
- Obtained a license to operate a private, tax-exempt, Christian elementary school
The first official day of school will be Monday, January 9 th 2006. We will be traveling to Malawi on December 30 th thru January 14 th to open the school and establish the daily feeding program for the children. We need your help now in order to; purchase books and other school materials; outfit the kitchen for feeding hundreds of children each day; maintain the staff of teachers and others needed to educate and feed the children; to teach the foster families and surrounding community about better health care, nutrition, vocation, agriculture and, most of all, how to be followers of Jesus and understand the Bible.
Will you consider us in your end of the year giving? Could you become a monthly sponsor? We need more monthly partners to keep the program open and continue growing to include older orphans who need education in grades 5 through 12 right now. There are many more who are asking for bibles and teaching from the scriptures. Won’t you help us to carry the gospel and the love of God to those you cannot reach? Contact us today.
Jesus said, “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go forth and bear much fruit, and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” John 15:16
